Grandma & Grandpa Huntsman: Sorensen Reunion

The annual Sorensen Reunion was again held at Tinney's Flat up Santaquin Canyon. Most family members attended except those who live out of State. Uncle Doug and Aunt Jannie were going to go up early and have their family get together (about 55 people) prior to the group family get together on Saturday but it seemed everyone wanted to escape the heat and head up early.

Mom and Jack had purchased a new 5th-wheel and a truck to pull it. Raylene got off work on Thursday so we followed them up after Jack got off work Thursday afternoon. Santaquin Canyon is one of the steepest canyons around so it was nice to escape the heat quickly. When we got to the campground, Uncle Doug had reserved Group "B" for all of us. His family was up above in single camp sites except Shirl and Micky (their 5th-wheel was too big). Uncle John and Aunt Jackie and Uncle Ernie and Aunt Naomi were already there so we parked in-between them and Shirl's trailer.

After setting everything up, TJ and Jason came and Rory brought the motor home. It looked like Trailer City with all of us camped out at the group site. But Rachele didn't want to sleep in the trailer so she took the tent and headed down to the stream to set up her "home".

It was far enough away that she could have some privacy. At times she would set up her chair behind the tent facing the stream and read. It was really peaceful over there.

I really enjoyed the nights and the light rain. I wished I didn't have to come home but happiness doesn't last forever!

Uncle Doug and I talked about next year. Tinney's is too small for our group (we have about a 100+) so we are looking for a new place fairly close. We don't want to go down south but are thinking of Black Hawk or someplace close.
